Adele became the big winner when the we celebrated the highlights of the past year in music.
The red carpet was filled to the brim on Tuesday night by some of the most popular artists in the world, for this year’s Brit Awards held at the 02 Arena in London.
The award ceremony honors both the best British and International artists from the past year and is the British answer to the Grammy’s with a total of 13 prizes being awarded.
Superstars Adele and Ed Sheeran were nominated in most categories.
The two Brits could boast four nominations each in the categories “Best pop/R&B», “Song of the Year”, “Album of the Year” and “Artist of the Year”.
It was Adele who became tonight’s big winner with three of four prizes.
Adele also walked away with the award for Artist of the Year, and as if that wasn’t enough, she also won tonight’s final award for “Album of the Year”
Ed Sheeran had to see himself beaten by Adele in several of the major categories but was honored with the award as Songwriter of the Year.
Last year’s Eurovision winners Måneskin were also nominated for two awards. The Italian rockers, on the other hand, had to be beaten by teenage star Olivia Rodrigo in the category of “Best International Song of the Year”.
The Italian rock band were also beaten in the category for the “Best International Group of the Year”. This award was won by Silk Sonic & Bruno Mars.
Ed Sheeran opened the show with the super hit “Bad Habits” with guest performers Bring Me the Horizon. Adele, Anne Marie, KSI, Little Simz and Digital Farm Animals were also among the artists who took the stage in the O2-Arena.
