First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has paused lockdown easing for the majority of Scotland.
With an expected drop in level from this Saturday 5th June, Edinburgh is now on the backfoot remaining on level 2 restrictions for longer than some areas in Scotland. While areas in the North and South of Scotland are to move to level 1 including Falkirk in the central belt and the Island communities moving onto level 0.
Glasgow has been allowed to drop from level 3 restrictions to level 2 on Saturday. With The first minister saying a “slight slowing down” of the easing of restrictions was needed while vaccination continues – but described it as “a pause, not a step backwards”.
