Lewis Capaldi certainly made it worthwhile having a member of the STV crew standing by to mute the audio, when he came to present the award to Dua Lipa who won the Brit for the best album, Future Nostalgia and indulged the audience in a few expletives.

The ‘Before You Go’ singer was introduced by host and comedian Jack Whitehall as being the “Buckfast Adele” after he took a bottle on stage to collect an award previously.

Capaldi made his way onto the stage shouting”shut up…shut up” as one of his singles played. His explosive entrance continued  “hello ***********,” as STV crew members had their work cut out to keep the show broadcast compliant.

He added: “I’m ******* sweating,” and the audio was once more muted, with viewers left to their imagination as to what he said…

The full explosive rant continued to be broadcast on the YouTube live stream by The Brit Awards.
