Mason Greenwood arrested for further sexual assault charge questioning

A footballer has been further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.

Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood has been further arrested over allegations of threat to kill and sexual assaults. 
 
It comes just days after an initial arrest by Greater Manchester Police, while footage went viral on social media platforms. 
 
The footage is allegedly recordings of Mason Greenwood. He was initially arrested on Sunday on suspicion of sexual assault. 
 
Greater Manchester Police released a statement explaining they’ve had the custody clock extended to question Greenwood further. 
 
Normally, when a suspect is arrested police officers and detectives are given 48 hours to investigate, question and then either charge or release a suspect. 
 
The sports brand Nike sponsor the striker and have released a statement reading “we are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.”
 
The player has been removed from FIFA 22 and Manchester United have said that the player won’t be training on site. He’s currently suspended until further notice.
