We've taken a look at how the Scottish capital celebrated Boxing Day 2021.

As many people woke feeling incredibly full after Christmas Day 2021, thousands chose to spend Boxing Day in and around Edinburgh. We’ve looked at how people marked the day.

Laura Cameron, a textile artist originally from Edinburgh but now living in Wales, spent Boxing Day taking on her familiess “traditional boxing day walk along Portobello Prom.”

The artist enjoyed the new additions including sculptures along the way.

She also captured an image of some “wonderful Christmas doors” in Edinburgh today too.

However, Laura wasn’t alone in her trip to the beach. Iain MacPhail also took to Portobello Beach with his schnauzer.

The beach was busy on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well for the traditional wild swimming sessions.

Swimmers were seen wearing wooly hats and antlers with many even taking a glass of something into the water with them. With such low temperatures – it was probably for the best!

This photo shared by Alberto Melo shows JUST how cold the waters were at Portobello Beach!
