It's confirmed - Prince Andrew will face a civil court case over an alleged sexual assault.

The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, is set to face civil court proceedings in America over allegations he sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre when she was 17.

Giuffre is taking legal action against Prince Andrew who she alleges sexually assaulted her 20 years ago in 2001.

The case has been resting on a previous civil agreement made by the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. A judge from New York ruled against the bid from The Prince’s lawyers and instead said the case should continue to be heard.

Prince Andrew was interviewed on the BBC’s Newsnight programme, where he said he had never met Giuffre.

The interview went viral with mentions of Pizza Express, medical inabilities to sweat and awkward moments leaving viewers squirming.

The difficult days ahead for Prince Andrew don’t seem to be going anywhere, anytime soon.

The Metro Newspaper led with a story in the last week that his daughters were destraught that their family skiing holiday was being canned.

Prince Andrew has been trying to sell his £17 million pound ski chalet to help pay any legal fees incurred in the civil case.

It comes just days after Her Majesty The Queen has confirmed she won’t be supporting the costs of the legal battle.

However, some Twitter users are baffled as to how The Duke of York owns a £13,000,000 ski chalet which would require a mortgage of over 600K per year.
