Natalie Cassidy: My daughter hates my EastEnders character

Soap star Natalie Cassidy says that her 7-year-old daughter "hates" her character, Sonia Fowler, in long running soap EastEnders.

Cassidy has played the nurse on the London based soap-opera for over 30 years, and is one of the most recognisable faces on the street.

Natalie told Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Spinning Plates podcast: “She’ll go, ‘Mummy… Sonia’s so boring. I just don’t like watching you on here, honestly I just don’t like it.’

“I say, ‘I’ve been there a long time darling, there’s a lot of people who do like me’. She says, ‘Well, I’m not one of them.’ She actually fast forwards my bits, but I don’t know if that’s because I’m her mum or that’s just her take on Sonia.”
